FAQs

1. What can a website do for me?

The answer to this question is neither short nor easy. With a little research and thought you can find hundreds of reasons, but there are a few general statements that may help you realize your needs. First a website can reach millions of people that might not otherwise be available. Second, customers can view products, services, or whatever you want to share from the comfort of their own home. No matter what type of business you are in, there are ways to grow and make money on the web for you.

2. Why does it matter how it looks as long as it works?

When you receive a visitor to your site, they will instantly perceive the quality of your services or products. The first impression a customer or potential customer gets depends on the appearance of your website. A visitor will be interested and explore your site if it is appealing and easy to navigate. You are marketing yourself and your business to the world over the Internet and it is important to show your best.

3. I don’t think a website will do anything for me, am I right?

No, many people overlook the various products, services, or business processes they can include on a website. Any communication or interactions that happen within your business can be made easier and more efficient by the web. Your business will save money and time while appealing to a much greater audience, the world.

4. Where can I see some examples of your work?

We offer a few samples of our work, please visit our portfolio section in the top menu. More are available upon request.

5. How do I get started?

Request a call back from the online form or email Acroex so we may discuss your individual online needs and preferences. After initial contact, Acroex can build a picture of what is required and issue a proposal of work and approximate cost to you.

6. How big a site do I need?

It varies. Some require a simple one page site like an electronic business card if you like, but others need a range of pages to feature all of the content required. If you have a lot of content it is better to distribute it across a range of pages rather than cram it all in to a couple. Viewers tend to lose interest where tons of scrolling is required and a lot of content on a single page increases page loading time significantly.

7. Do I have to submit all the content right after I order or can I submit it later in the project?

It is preferred that all site content be submitted at the start of the project. However, you can submit additional content throughout the design phase. This helps us determine the scope of the project, identify required resources, and limits the amount of delays that can occur in getting your Website designed.

8. How do I submit content for my new Website?

The content can be submitted via e-mail or CD (CD’s will not be returned). It is preferred that content be in a text file.

9. Can you take/move content from my old site?

Yes, if redesigning an existing site Acroex can move the content to the new site if desired.

10. I do not have any imagery for my Website, but I want some. How can I get some photography/graphics for my Website?

Our Web Design Department custom builds each unique design. If you do not have any imagery of your own, we generally add imagery from different stock photography Websites on the Internet, such as iStockphoto.com. These images are relatively inexpensive and will be added on top of the total project estimate. You are welcome to also search stock photography Websites and make suggestions of your own.

11. How long will it take to design my Website?

The time required to create a custom Web design will vary based on the complexity, functionality, and quantity of content you’re looking to incorporate into your site. You may request a completion estimate after we have received your order, and you will be updated on our progress numerous times throughout the design process.

12. Can I view my Website while it is being built?

You will be given opportunities to review the pages of your Website as pages are completed during the design process. At each of these times you will also be given the opportunity to make revisions to your Website.

13. What would be the up front cost of a project?

After discussing your requirements, Acroex will provide you with a proposal of work containing the costs involved where you will be required to place a 50 percent deposit prior to work. The balance will be due upon completion of the web site. Your other costs will be domain name and web hosting. Domain registration and hosting costs are not included in these prices. Those fees would be paid directly to your domain registrar and your internet hosting provider. Depending on your individual needs, there maybe additional costs for your site, which we can discuss.
